2018 Kids Camp Program

Course Dates:

Dates for the 2018 Season 

June 23th (Drop off Sunday at 3 pm.) to June 28 (Pick up Friday at 5 pm.)

Advanced Camp  July 7-12 (Drop at 3 pm. and Pick Up  5 pm.)  Aug 11 th -August 16th

July 21th (Drop off Sunday at 3 pm.) to July 26 (Pick Up Friday at 5 pm.) 

August 4th (Drop off Sunday at 3 pm.) to August9th (Pick up Friday at 5 pm.)

Ages: 10-15

(We have had younger participants in the past based on their comfort level of being away from home, and day students).

Schedule: Students should arrive between 3-6pm Sunday afternoon at our designated camp location (Outflow Camp Ground). Pick Up  is around 5 pm on Friday afternoon.

Rivers: Middle & Lower Yough River, Casselman, New River, Stony River, Cheat Narrows, and Valley Falls (depending on water levels)

What is Provided: Camping site with private showers, and bathrooms, Equipment if needed, All Meals provided from drop off to pick up times, and Transportation. Plus all of the skills needed to become a advanced kayaker. Of course, supervision by 2 instructors or more.

What You Should Bring:  We will supply a list of necessities at time of registration, but Equipment for primitive camping & personal kayak gear if you have it. Beginners will be supplied with equipment. Students should bring their own equipment (if possible) to feel comfortable and confident with what they typically use.

 Cost: $595 for 5 Days of Great Instruction.  $700 for Advanced camp that Travels

…Andy Smith, co-owner, buyer and instructor at Riversport in Confluence, Somerset County, sells and rents stand-up paddleboarding equipment. If you can stand and paddle and have some balance you can do it, Smith says, who has taught this sport to people of all ages.

“The world of stand-up paddleboarding has exploded all over the country,” Smith says. “It has experienced the largest growth of any paddle sport. We have people come here, and once they try it, they are hooked.”…
